The Greenhouse
A fun, interactive game that teaches a valuable lesson in our quest to fight climate change.
The most complex, challenging, and eye-opening, and engineering project I had built up to that date.
The goal of the project was to teach users about climate change and their impact on it through an interactive game that utilized various sensors (built in-house and outsourced), LEDs, and other electrical components such as motors, transistors, and other switching elements. The game was broken into two stages: In the first the player had to try to turn off all household appliances in a futile attempt to stave off catastrophe, and the second they had to crank a generator to produce more green energy than fossil fuels. The lesson was that these half measures are not enough and we must fundamentally change our energy habits. My major tasks included designing and building the majority of the circuitry, designing the software layout and state machines, design of 3D printed components, and the software and hardware integration.
